AUScA Committee Roles

President: The role of the President is to lead all other Committee members. The President is responsible for chairing meetings, ensuring the progress of day-to-day tasks and monitoring the overall direction of the Club.  The President should have a good working knowledge of the Club’s constitution and operations, so previous experience on the AUScA committee is ideal. The President will also act as the Spokesperson for the Club.

Vice President: The Vice President works closely with the President to discuss ideas or concerns and oversee club operations. Should the President be absent or resign, the Vice President will take the lead.

Secretary: The Secretary conducts administration for the Club and is the meeting coordinator, responsible for scheduling and room booking, agenda preparation, minute taking and following up on actionable items. The Secretary may also be primarily responsible for communicating with club members by email and monitoring the Club’s inbox. The Secretary works closely with the President and should have a good working knowledge of the Club’s constitution.

Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for managing Club finances and advises the committee on financial matters to ensure the growth and stability of the club. The Treasurer prepares event budgets, pays invoices and reimbursements, and applies for grants. It is important for the Treasurer to keep good records and be able to report on Club incomes and expenses.

Events Manager: The Events Manager coordinates major events held throughout the year. As Events Manager, you will be in contact with and book venues, plan out events to ensure they run smoothly and oversee operations on the day.

Social Media Manager: A newly proposed position in 2026, the Media Manager oversees AUScA’s media, including the Website, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. The Media manager oversees posting to social media and manages a small team consisting of Social Media Officers and the Graphics Officer. This role will suit someone who is very familiar with Instagram and Facebook.

Social Media Officers: Social Media Officers support the Social Media Manager and help to post promotional material, event recaps and interactive content to the Club’s social media. The Social Media Officers will also keep the AUScA website and Linktree updated, along with responding to or forwarding inquiries delivered by DM. This role is critical for member engagement and Club outreach. This shared role will suit someone who is very familiar with Instagram and Facebook.

Graphics Design Officer: The Graphics Design Officer creates the graphics used for event marketing (posters and social media) and merchandise (namely, PubCrawl shirts!). This role will suit someone who is creative and familiar with Canva, the Adobe suite, or similar.

Outreach Officer: The Outreach Officer is responsible for seeking sponsorships and communicating with faculty to obtain sponsorship or deals that can benefit Club members.

Honours/Postgraduate Representative, Third Year Representative, Second Year Representative and First Year Representative: The Year-Level Representatives are the voice on the Committee that provides the perspective of a student in their respective year level. They are also encouraged to promote the Club and AUScA events among other students of their year level.

General Committee Members: The role of a General Committee Member is to attend meetings and provide input in the planning of events, as well as having a greater hand in the planning of events by joining various subcommittees.
